About Betsi Goutal
Dabbler, mad scientist, fairy princess, rogue scholar, Jaqueline-of-all-trades, mixed media maven, mother hen, visual journaler, jewelry artist. All this, and more… Or perhaps just a whimsical pink-haired soul seeking answers through visual journaling and experimentation in art.
Born in the era of big hair and neon fashions, I was raised by an artist mother and a computer-programmer father. My childhood was influenced by my mom’s art projects and creative guidance – as well as the saccharine big-heartedness of Rainbow Brite and the Care Bears, the campy sense of adventure of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and the be-who-you-want-to-be attitude of Jem & the Holograms. This pop-culture cocktail infused me with a desire to experiment and play, to heal and grow, to always be stretching and learning. My strongest drive is to nurture; both myself and anyone else who will hold still! My dream is to someday open a little nest of a place, a studio-shop fusion filled to the brim with magical bits of inspiration and a full schedule of exciting workshops and classes. The first budding blossoms of this dream are my Etsy shop, Eccentricity Supply Company; and this blog, Eccentric Spirit, where I’m sharing my inspirations and insights with kindred spirits.

Saw your comment on Kelly Kilmer’s blog. Take at least one of her classes. You won’t regret it. She is an awesome teacher who makes everyone feel comfortable no matter what their skill level is. You will love her! I do. I have been taking classes with her for the past 5 years and continue to do so. I will be at all 4 classes in Whitman and at least the first day of classes in Westford. Please join us.
